As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained A.K., a citizen of Ukraine born in 1989, who was wanted by Interpol under the Red Notice.
The detained A.K. was wanted by the law enforcement agencies of Germany and Poland for various crimes, including leadership of an organized criminal group and illegal smuggling of migrants, under the Red Notice.
The accused person crossed the Georgian border even before an international warrant was issued for him.
Law enforcement officers detained A.K. in Batumi as a result of investigative actions.
Currently, extradition procedures envisaged by the acting legislation are underway against the detainee.
