Geka Geladze attended an aviation search and rescue simulation exercise conducted by the Emergency Situations Management Service in Chakvi

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze, along with the Minister of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze, and the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, attended a large-scale, multi-component interagency aviation search and rescue simulation exercise conducted by the Emergency Situations Management Service in the village of Chakvi.

According to the scenario developed by the Emergency Situations Management Service, immediately after the start of the exercise, a helicopter of the Border Police Department made an emergency landing near the coastline, after which rescue operations defined by the simulation exercise scenario were launched.

During the simulation exercise, employees of the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Border Police, Patrol and Adjara Police Departments, Public Safety Command Center 112, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection, the local municipality and the Red Cross, who participated in the event, demonstrated all the necessary components that are carried out during an aviation search and rescue operation.

The goal of the inter-agency exercise was to improve cooperation and interoperability between agencies involved in the aviation search and rescue system, enhance information and notification procedures, and refine search and rescue operations during aviation accidents, water and land rescue operations.

The inter-agency simulation exercise was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs, the Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, and leadership of other agencies involved in the exercise.
