Officers of the Imereti Police Department, Zestaponi and Samtredia District Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions conducted at different times, arrested two persons on charges of drug crimes.
Crimes committed envision punishment up to 12 years of imprisonment.
T.K., born in 1975, and L.G., born in 1970 and previously convicted, are being held on charges of illegal purchase and storage of large and especially large quantities of narcotics and illegal planting and cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs.
Law enforcement officers seized 207 cannabis plants and dried marijuana, containing narcotic substances, during searches of the homes, yards, and auxiliary storage areas of individuals arrested on drug charges.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 265, Subparagraph 3 “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 260, Part 1 and Article 260, Part 2, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
