Migration Department Employees Deported 36 Foreign Citizens from Georgia

Within the framework of the complex measures carried out in recent days by the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, 36 foreign citizens were deported from Georgia, in close coordination with the relevant units of the Ministry.

A total of 36 citizens were deported from Georgia, namely from: Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, India, Jordan, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Armenia and Zimbabwe. In accordance with the current legislation, the deported persons were banned from entering the country.

It is noteworthy that in June of the current year, as a result of complex measures taken by the Migration Department employees together with other departments of the agency, a total of 115 foreign citizens were deported from Georgia, while the data of the first 7 months of 2025 shows that, a total of 640 foreign citizens were deported, representing 233 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year.

The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies is to identify foreign citizens who reside in Georgia without legal grounds and to carry out their expulsion from Georgia.
