As a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Main Division for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two individuals previously convicted of illegal purchase and storage of narcotics and illegal importation into Georgia: L.A., born in 1972, and G.Ch., born in 1972.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The defendants entered Georgia from one of the European countries through Tbilisi Airport.
Law enforcement officers seized narcotics from a small bag belonging to L.A. at Tbilisi International Airport, and 336 pills of the narcotic drug "Subutex" were seized from G.Ch., which the accused brought into Georgia with the method of “body packing”.
The police arrested both of them as accused persons.
The investigation is in progress under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
