As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Main Division for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two people on drug-related charges.
The following persons are detained on charges of illegal purchase and storage of large and especially large quantities of narcotic drugs, facilitation of illegal sale, illegal planting and cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs: G.Kh., born in 1986, and E.V., a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 1962.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
As a result of the personal search held to defendants and search activities conducted in their residential apartments, as well as a storage space used by one of the defendants, law enforcement officers seized various types of narcotics as evidence, including: "Methadone", "Dried Marijuana", a mass containing "Tetrahydrocannabinol" and "Herbal Cannabis".
The police also seized materials necessary for cultivation of narcotics as evidence.
The investigation is in progress under Articles 260, 260 (4) and 265-(5) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
