Law enforcement officers seized wide range of illegal firearms and ammunition as a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out throughout Georgia, including Tbilisi and regions in the last two days. On the basis of the Court decision, a number of persons have been detained, some of them with previous convictions.
During the personal search, and search activities held in their residential houses, storage rooms and vehicles, police officers seized various types of firearms, as well as ammunition, clamps, cartridges and body armor as evidence.
The committed crimes envision up to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation is in progress under Article 236, III and IV parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
