The employees of Tbilisi, Central Criminal Police, Shida Kartli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Imereti Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of recent operational measures and investigative actions, seized illegal firearms and ammunition - 6 persons have been arrested.
The committed crimes envision up to 11 years of imprisonment.
The following persons have been arrested for the illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition: A.G., born in 1960, G.G., born in 1982, L.G., born in 1999, and previously convicted persons - Z.K., born in 1987, G.D., born in 1978, and I.A., born in 1994 who is currently on probation.
Law enforcement officers conducted personal searches of the detainees, as well as their residential places and surrounding areas and seized various types of firearms, ammunition, pistols, revolvers, hunting rifles, grips, cartridges, as well as narcotics as evidence. The investigation is in progress under Articles 236, 260 and 265 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
