As a result of immediate investigative actions, officers of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested N.K., born in 1987, on charges of premeditated murder committed against a family member.
The crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The investigation established that on August 25 of the current year, in a residential apartment located in Tbilisi, due to the conflict, the accused person inflicted multiple injuries to his wife, A.K., born in 1991, with a blunt object and fled the scene.
As a result of received injuries, the young woman died at the crime scene.
As a result of the investigative actions conducted by law enforcement officers, the accused person was arrested shortly after the crime was committed.
The investigation is underway under Article 109, sub-paragraph "k" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to premeditated murder committed against a family member under aggravating circumstances.
