As a result of immediate investigative actions conducted by the officers of Bolnisi Police Division of Kvemo Kartli Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, B.I., born in 1998, and K.I., born in 1995, were arrested on charges of illegal deprivation of liberty committed in group.
The committed crime envisions the term of imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
The investigation established that in Bolnisi Municipality, B.I.'s brother, also detained as a defendant- K.I. deprived a young woman, born in 2006 of her liberty for the purpose of marriage, on the basis of gender intolerance.
As a result of immediate operational-search measures upon receiving information regarding the crime, law enforcement officers located the kidnapped young woman on the same day, which was followed by the detention of B.I. and K.I. as defendants.
An investigation into the fact of illegal deprivation of liberty committed by the group with prior agreement is in progress under Article 143, Part III, Subparagraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
