The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze held a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Arpine Sargsyan, who is on her official visit to Georgia along with the delegation.
The parties discussed the importance of firm and effective cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and Armenia.
During the meeting, it was emphasized the importance of sharing experience and best practices between the parties.
Geka Geladze mentioned that Georgian side is ready to expand cooperation with Armenian side in various directions.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Arpine Sargsyan thanked her Georgian colleague for the hospitality and expressed readiness to continue working with Georgian side on priority issues of the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Agreement “Between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on the Readmission of Persons Residing without Authorization” was signed. This Agreement will contribute to strengthening the relations between Georgia and the Republic of Armenia in combating illegal migration effectively.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, other senior officials of the Ministry, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia Giorgi Sharvashidze, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan, and representatives of the Embassy.
