As a result of immediate operative and investigative actions, officers of Shida Kartli Police and Special Tasks Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested Z.N., born in 1981, on charges of premeditated murder.
The committed crime envisions up to 15 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that in the village of Bebnisi, Kareli Municipality, Z.N., born in 1981, killed his fellow villager, Z.I., born in 1975, with a firearm.
Upon receiving the information, employees of the relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately arrived at the scene, which was followed by several shots to the direction of the police officers from the side of the perpetrator, who fled the scene afterwards.
Two employees of Shida Kartli Police Department were injured as a result of the shooting. Both of them have been transported to the hospital for appropriate medical assistance.
As a result of the investigative actions conducted by law enforcement officers, Z.N. was arrested as a result of immediate activities.
An investigation into the fact of premeditated murder is in progress under Article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
