Statistical data on registered crime across the country for the first six months of 2025 were published on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, https://info.police.ge/ according to which the crime rate decreased by 795 facts (-2.96%) compared to the previous, similar period in 2024. In addition, the rate of crime-solving index of registered crimes has increased and amounted to 66.16%.
As a result of the effective legal policy implemented against the illegal circulation and distribution of narcotic drugs in the country and the uncompromising fight by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detection of drug-related crime facts increased significantly in the first two quarters of 2025. In the first six months of the current year, a total of 3,919 cases of drug-related crimes were detected by law enforcement agencies, which is 29% more compared to in the same period of the last year. As a result of active measures taken by the police, 263 people were prosecuted for illegal sale of narcotics in the first two quarters of 2025, which is almost twice as many as in the same period of the last year.
The number of crimes committed against property also decreased in the first six months of 2025. Among them, cases of theft from apartments, robbery, fraud, extortion and embezzlement decreased.
In 2025, there were also fewer cases sexual crimes, trafficking, facts of trafficking of minors, cybercrime (-80 facts) and crimes committed by officials (-46 facts) compared to the same period of the last year.
In the first two quarters of the current year, the number of infliction of serious bodily harm and traffic crimes has increased, including 175 violations of traffic safety and operation rules. However, at the same time, the rate of crime detection has increased.
In order to ensure the safest environment in the country, all relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue their uncompromising fight against crime in round-the-clock regime.
