The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Roland Meskhi, and Deputy Minister, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze held a meeting with the Secretary of State for Justice and the Interior of the Principality of Andorra, Joan Antoni Leon Peso, and the Director of Police Force of Andorra, Bruno Lasne.
The parties discussed the importance of the existing close and effective cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and Principality of Andorra. During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the role of police attachs in strengthening cooperation between law enforcement bodies.
Within the scope of the meeting, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Roland Meskhi, and the Secretary of State for Justice and the Interior of the Principality of Andorra, Joan Antoni Leon Peso, signed a memorandum of understanding on law enforcement cooperation. This Memorandum aims to enhance the relations between Georgia and the Principality of Andorra, particularly in the area of combating crime effectively.
The delegation also visited the LEPL Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The guests were hosted by the Director of the Service Agency, Zurab Zubadalashvili.
The delegation members were familiarized with the operations of the Service Agency. They received information about the rules for passing theoretical and practical exams for obtaining driving licenses, vehicle registration procedures, and the electronic services the agency offers to citizens. The guests also inspected the infrastructure of the Agency’s Rustavi Central Department and its testing vehicle fleet.
At the conclusion of the visit, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs of the Principality of Andorra thanked their Georgian counterparts for their warm hospitality and expressed their readiness to continue working on priority issues between the law enforcement agencies of two countries.
