As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, the employees of Gori Police Division under Shida Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 4 people.
Law enforcement officers have arrested V.A., born in 1982, on charges of attempted murder under aggravating circumstances and illegal possession of a firearm. A.S., born in 1980, has also been arrested on charges of illegal purchase, storage and possession of a firearm. As for previously convicted and currently on probation - N.V., born in 2005, has been arrested for failure to report a particularly grave crime as well as N.A., born in 2003 for committing the same crime.
The committed crime envisions up to 20 years in prison.
The investigation established that on July 8 of the current year, in the town of Gori, V.A. physically assaulted N.V. on the basis of a mutual dispute.
In order to resolve the conflict, the accused N.V., together with his companions, including R.K., born in 2005, previously convicted person currently on probation, went to V.A.'s house. During the repeated confrontation that occurred on the spot, V.A. fired multiple shots from a firearm, wounding R.K. After the incident, both parties involved in the conflict fled the scene. V.A. left the area with his nephew - N.A., who was later detained for failure to report the crime.
As a result of the conducted operational measures and investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized the weapon of crime as evidence from A.S., born in 1980, who is also detained as a defendant.
Operational-search and investigative actions are in progress to detain others involved in the case.
The incident is being investigated under Articles 19-109, 376 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
