As a result of immediate operative-search measures and investigative actions conducted, officers of Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained eight persons for organizing group violence, group violence, and Infliction of a Severe Health Damage on Purpose.
The arrested persons are: Sh.M., born in 1983, G.O., born in 1985, Z.Gh., born in 1981, B.T., born in 1997, M.M., born in 1986, R.M., born in 1990, and those with previous convictions: V.S., born in 1988, and Sh.Sh., born in 1976.
The committed crimes envision up to 9 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the defendants physically assaulted G.G., born in 1970, in Sagarejo Municipality, in an organized, group manner, with the purpose of revenge.
During the same physical confrontation, the defendants shot and wounded A.G., born in 1994, and fled the scene. The wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he received appropriate medical assistance.
As a result of the operational-search measures and investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, the defendants were arrested as a result of immediate activities.
The investigation is in progress under Article 126, part I, Articles 225 and 117 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
