As a result of immediate investigative actions conducted by the officers of Old Tbilisi Police Main Division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, foreign citizens - R.B., born in 1981, and A.Ch., born in 1975, were arrested on charges of armed robbery and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms.
The crime envisions up to 12 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that R.B. attacked two foreign citizens sitting in a vehicle on Machabeli Street in Tbilisi, namely - A.B. and M.A., both born in 2000. The attacker fired a gun in their direction, and illegally took possession of cash belonging to foreign citizens, as well as vehicle temporarily under the ownership of M.A., and fled the scene.
As a result of the shooting, A.M. was wounded in the lower limb area, who was rendered appropriate medical assistance.
The investigation also established that the aforementioned robbery was organized and planned by A.Ch., who was detained as a defendant.
As a result of the conducted investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized part of the cash illegally appropriated through the armed robbery as well as vehicle as evidence. The organizer of the crime, A.Ch., and the perpetrator of the robbery, R.B., were arrested as defendants.
An investigation into the facts of robbery and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms is underway under Articles 179 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
