Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze visited the police officers injured and wounded as a result of the assault that took place in Gori.
The Minister received detailed information from doctors regarding the health condition of the injured law enforcement officers. Geka Geladze conversed to the police officers hospitalized in the clinic and wished them a speedy recovery.
Along with the Minister, the injured law enforcement officers were also visited by the First Deputy Minister Roland Meskhi, and the Director of Shida Kartli Police Department, Kakhaber Muradashvili.
On July 16 of the current year, in the village of Kheltubani, Gori Municipality, several citizens attacked the employees of Shida Kartli Police Department while they were performing their official duties. As a result of the incident, three police officers were stabbed, and one was sustained traumas of different gravity in face area.
Officers of Shida Kartli Police Department have arrested 5 individuals as accused persons in connection with the incident. The investigation is in progress under Article 353 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
