As a result of operational-search measures and investigative actions conducted in Adjara, officers of Adjara Main Division of the Patrol Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs identified and detained M.A., a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, born in 1996, for illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
The committed crime envisions up to 7 years of imprisonment.
Officers of the Patrol Police Department, as a result of the personal search of M.A. and his place of temporary residence in Batumi and Khelvachauri Municipality, seized firearms, 14 cartridges and several magazines as evidence.
An investigation into the facts of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition is in progress under Article 236 III and IV parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
