Geka Geladze, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, held an introductory meeting with Ashot Smbatyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia.
Within the scope of the meeting, there was emphasized the importance of peace and cooperation for the sustainable development of the South Caucasus region. The parties focused on the ongoing developments in the region and discussed existing security issues.
Geka Geladze also mentioned the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia, which took place in June. The Minister noted that fruitful meetings were held within the framework of the visit, both with the Prime Minister and his Armenian counterpart, and expressed gratitude to the Armenian side for hosting the delegation at a high level.
The parties also discussed the close and effective police cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries and expressed hope that this cooperation will be further deepened through joint efforts.
