The Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of National Driving Permits entered into force on June 21 of the current year.
Upon entry into force of the Agreement, holders of valid driving licenses issued by the relevant authorities of the Parties will be able to obtain a driving permit of equal validity in the State of their legal residence without passing a theoretical or practical exam.
The Agreement defines categories and classes of driving permits that will be subject to exchange after the Agreement enters into force, namely the exchange of AM, A, A1, A2, B, B1, C, D, C1, D1, BE, CE, DE, C1E, D1E driving permits will be possible without passing theoretical or practical exams.
The Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of National Driving Permits was signed in Athens, Greece, on June 26, 2024.
Georgia has also concluded similar agreements with the Kingdom of Spain and Ireland, where the exchange of Georgian driving permits is already available.
